π’ Important Notification: PEEDA Act Proceedings Against Surplus Teachers
The School Education Department, Government of Punjab has issued a new directive dated 19th September 2025 regarding surplus teachers who failed to apply for further posting or adjustment during the rationalization process.
According to the notification, the Competent Authority has shown serious concern over the non-compliance by several surplus teachers, despite repeated instructions and opportunities provided.

Identification of Surplus Teachers: All surplus teachers who did not apply for adjustment or posting must be identified within their respective jurisdictions.

Disciplinary Proceedings: Proceedings under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act, 2006 will be initiated against such teachers.

Strict Compliance Required: District Education Authorities (DEAs) have been directed to ensure 100% compliance and submit a comprehensive action taken report by 22nd September 2025 (02:00 PM).
Failure to comply may result in strict disciplinary action against the concerned CEOs (DEAs).
