This new syllabus aims to reduce academic pressure, simplify exam preparation, and ensure that learning remains balanced and effective across all government and private schools of Punjab.

📚 What’s New in the Smart Syllabus?

After receiving numerous complaints that the syllabus for 9th class was too lengthy and complex, the Punjab Curriculum & Textbook Board (PCTB) and PECTAA (Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority) decided to trim it down.

Here’s what has changed subject-wise:

✅ Urdu: 4 lessons have been removed.
✅ English: 3 complete units excluded.
✅ Mathematics: About 50% of questions have been reduced to simplify practice.
✅ Physics: 27 topics are no longer part of the course.
✅ Chemistry: 2 full units and 15 topics have been excluded.
✅ Biology: 1 full unit, 22 topics, and several short questions removed.
✅ Computer Science: 46 topics deleted from the syllabus.

All 2026 annual board exams for 9th grade in Punjab will now be conducted according to this Smart Syllabus.
