Donkey Meat Scandal Uncovered in Islamabad
A shocking discovery has been made in Islamabad, where donkey meat was allegedly being sold illegally. The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) carried out a surprise raid on a farmhouse located in the Tarnol area of the capital.
During the raid, authorities found 50 to 60 live donkeys along with nearly 25 maunds (approximately 1,000 kg) of donkey meat already prepared for distribution. The seized meat was immediately destroyed on-site to prevent it from reaching the market.

Police arrested a foreign national who was reportedly running the operation. Initial investigations revealed that the meat was not only supplied to local markets but was also being exported abroad, including countries where donkey meat and hides are used for medicinal purposes, such as China.
Officials emphasized that strict action would be taken against those involved and that regular inspections would be intensified to prevent such unethical and hazardous practices in the future.
This incident has sparked concern among consumers about food safety and ethical practices in the meat industry.

چھاپے کے دوران حکام نے 50 سے 60 زندہ گدھے برآمد کیے جبکہ تقریباً 25 من (1,000 کلوگرام) گدھے کا گوشت پہلے سے تیار حالت میں موجود تھا۔ ضبط شدہ گوشت کو فوری طور پر موقع پر تلف کر دیا گیا تاکہ یہ عوامی مارکیٹ تک نہ پہنچ سکے۔

حکام نے اس بات پر زور دیا ہے کہ ایسے غیر اخلاقی اور خطرناک کاروبار میں ملوث عناصر کے خلاف سخت کارروائی کی جائے گی اور مستقبل میں اس قسم کی سرگرمیوں کو روکنے کے لیے معائنے مزید سخت کیے جائیں گے۔
یہ واقعہ عوام میں خوراک کے معیار اور اخلاقی کاروباری اصولوں کے حوالے سے تشویش پیدا کر رہا ہے۔
